FLINT ASSEMBLY PLANT – 2 hours
Mon – Thurs 9 am and 1 pm
Walk beside the assembly line and watch the precision
construction of the Chevrolet Silverado
and GMC Sierra trucks from nuts and bolts to the
test drive off the assembly line.
Restrictions: no infants or children
under 6, no open toed shoes, cameras, cell phones,
food or beverages. Handicapped individuals can be
accommodated, but prior explanation of special need
is required. GM cars only may park in lot outside
front entry to plant. All others must park in employee
lot 1/2 block north of plant entrance. |

SITDOWN
STRIKE MEMORIAL – 45 minutes
Located at UAW Region 1C
1940 West Atherton Road Flint, MI 48507
Mon – Thurs 11:15 am and 3:15 pm
Historical, enlightening and thought provoking,
a personal look at the men and women who participated
in the sitdown strike of 1936-1937 which resulted
in the recognition of the UAW. A short film and
guided tour of the monument tell of the struggle
for union representation in the booming automobile
industry. This momentous event occurred in Flint
and affected the rise of the working middle class
the world overFlint Truck Assembly and UAW Region
1-C are only 1 block apart. Tour times are set to
facilitate back to back tours at each location.
All tour arrangements must be made thru the Flint
Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
